Ads (paid per click) on your blog?

So I made my own blog, and I decided to monetize it a little. I now have about 5 standard text ads on the righthand side of my webpage. Have these types of ads given you money before? Whenever I visit a website, I have no interest in clicking on other people’s stupid ads, so I’m wondering if I will make any money whatsoever with these things. Thanks for your answers.
